Safety Through Superior Education and Training
Pilots of any level benefit from our 3-hour Upset Recovery Course. The purpose of this training is to experience and to learn how to control an airplane if it ever gets into any unusual flying attitude.
We all know from our private pilot training how important it is to avoid wake turbulence, but do we really know how to control the airplane in case of encountering wake turbulence?!
Great part of any pilot training is devoted to stalls and this specific flight condition/recovery is a mandatory skill to be demonstrated on check-rides, from recreational to ATP. The question is: what happens AFTER the airplane stalls fully? How to anticipate and avoid an unintentional Spin? Furthermore, how to get out of a spin safely and with confidence?
Those answers and much more are found in our Upset Recovery syllabus. We have it designed to cover ground school review on basic aerodynamics and recovery methods. At the end of the training you will have achieved a much higher level of pilot skills and confidence. And…it’s a lot of FUN, too!!
There is no substitute for experience: If you know what to expect, you know what to do! Give us a call and sign up for the Upset Recovery Course!
Tailwheel Transition
Getting a tailwheel airplane transition and endorsement is easier than most pilots think. When you start flying and landing a "taildragger" you are exposed to the real joy of flying, like the old days of aviation. And you also learn pretty quickly the true use of that thing called "Rudder" and how you can use the newly acquired skill to fly the airplane coordinated at all times.
Once you are successful in landing the plane on a three-point landing or on a wheel-landing, you have acquired a much higher level of confidence and skill that will make any landing on a tricycle plane really uneventful. Your understanding of cross-wind landings will make you a much safer pilot in nearly any landing condition.
Aerial Advantage Aviation developed a syllabus for the Tail-Wheel transition course that encompasses 5 lessons, Your first flight will introduce you to the Super Decathlon and you will fly the airplane and experience the stick-and-rudder way of flying. Slow flight, stalls, and coordinated turns are part of this phase. The effects of adverse yaw, torque, and gyroscopic forces are also an important component of this lesson.
Then we concentrate on working in the pattern and practicing landings, different types of approaches, from short approaches to forward slip to landing. All with a comprehensive pre-flight briefing on the ground.
If you want to learn how the an airplane really flies, want to accomplish your next BFR with a touch of fun and safety, and add a tailwheel endorsement to your logbook, please contact us for more information. You will discover a new perspective in flying!
